This Quartz is named for the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. They are named for the Goddess Aurora, the Goddess of the Sunrise. Also called Aurora Quartz, Rainbow Quartz or Rainbow Anandalite. Anandalite is not to be confused with the treated quartz also known as Aurora Quartz. This is a natural Crystal from the Himalayas, that at times exhibits a display of surface rainbow colours. Anandalite is a relatively new crystal on the market, first appearing in 2010.
